Additional Information
During Ramadan period
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim year, during which fasting (eating, drinking or smoking) is observed from dawn to sunset by Muslims.
2026 dates: From 17 February until March 19. Non-Muslims are advised to eat, drink or smoke only in dedicated areas, however nowadays it is more open to public.
IN THE UAE
– Hotels in UAE serve food and beverage (including alcoholic beverages) all day. Some outlets may remain closed due to lower business volumes during daytime hours, but guests still have a good selection of dining options.
– Food Courts in malls are open as normal. Shops in Malls are open until late night to cater to those observing fasting.
– Restaurants in Old Dubai area, remain closed during fasting hours. They open in the evenings after the Iftar meal (when the fast is broken daily) and stay operational until very late.
– No live entertainment is permitted at any venue during Ramadan.
– For guests booking the Desert Safari and Dinner, this means there is no belly dance performance. Alcohol is also not available during Ramadan at the desert camps.
– Certain excursion itineraries will change to accommodate revised opening hours of museums and other places of interest. Our representatives will always have the latest information, so please send us any questions you have or may get from agents about opening times and operations.
– UAE always welcomes all visitors and Ramadan is no exception. Guests can enjoy pop-up Night Markets and Ramadan Tents all across the cities. As a show of cultural deference, we request guests to refrain from eating, drinking and smoking on the street side during daytime and observe a modest dress code.
IN OMAN
– Hotels: hotel beaches and pool areas will not serve food and drinks in swimming pool areas or any other open space. However, Most of the 5* hotels have dedicated covered areas where food and beverages will be served during the day. Room service will also be available at most of the hotels.
– Cafes and restaurants are closed during the day. If there are lunches included during tours/excursions, they will take place at hotels. In case there are not hotels in the area, clients will be provided with a picnic lunch box and guests will eat inside the vehicle to avoid the public.
– Alcohol will only be available at 5* hotels after sunset at selected outlets. It will be served as room service at some hotels during the day (each hotel might apply each own policy). Otherwise, 4* or lower category hotels / restaurants, won’t be serving alcohol during the month of Ramadan. Clients can bring alcohol from home/duty free shops and consume in the privacy of hotel room.
