DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN ATHENS

Arrival today at Athens International Airport. After collecting your luggage, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel in central Athens. The remainder of the day is free at leisure.

DAY 2 ATHENS

Breakfast at the hotel this morning. Today is a free day to explore the city at your own pace. There are many optional sightseeing tours available such as an Athens City Tour including the famous Acropolis, a full day tour to the archaeological site at Delphi or even a one-day cruise to the Saronic Islands.

DAY 3 CORINTH – MYCENAE – TOLO

After breakfast, pick up your rental vehicle and leave Athens along the coast road. Enjoy a short stop to visit the Corinth Canal. This is the man-made canal that joins together the Aegean Sea and the Ionian Sea. The ancient site of Corinth is only 15 km away from the Corinth Canal. Your next stop is the archaeological site of Mycenae. Mycenae is famous for being the Homeric city of Atreides. Here you will be able to see the famous Lion Gate, the impressive Cyclopean Walls, and the Royal Tombs of Agamemnon. After touring the impressive ruins of Mycenae continue to Tolo for overnight.

DAY 4 NAFPLION – SPARTA

After breakfast, depart Tolo to explore more of the beautiful Peloponnese. Drive to the nearby town of Nafplion, considered among one of the most romantic towns in Greece, geographically located on the eastern side of Peloponnese. The Old Town is a marvel to walk around, with elegant mansions and large squares, while on the hill above the Old Town, there is a fortress dating from the Venetian Age. After spending some time enjoying your visit, continue to the city of Sparta. Overnight in Sparta.

DAY 5 SPARTA – MYSTRAS – SPARTA

In ancient Greek mythology, Sparta was a city founded by King Lacedaemon, the son of Zeus and Taygete. Sparta developed over the centuries to become a powerful city that based its power on its military superiority. Like the city of Athens was famous throughout the ancient world for its intellectual culture, Sparta was known for its courageous soldiers. The archaeological site of Mystras is located a short 5km drive from Sparta. Mystras is one of the most important sites of Ancient Greece and includes lovely Byzantine churches, what remains of an ancient Palace and the ruins of the ancient city walls. Return to Sparta for the night.

DAY 6 MEGALOPOLIS – OLYMPIA

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and begin the drive to Olympia. On the way to Olympia, stop by the ancient city of Megalopolis for a visit to its ruins. Ancient Megalopolis was founded in 371 BC. This great city once housed a great theatre - one of the biggest in the Ancient Greek World and seated around 20,000 people. After touring Megalopolis, continue to Olympia for the night.

DAY 7 OLYMPIA – DELPHI

Breakfast at the hotel, then enjoy the morning discovering the beautiful ancient home of the Oracle. Situated on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Delphi is one of the most stunning archaeological sites in the world. After visiting this amazing site, continue through the Greek countryside to the town of Kalambaka. Overnight in Kalambaka.

DAY 8 DELPHI – KALAMBAKA

Breakfast at the hotel, then enjoy the morning discovering the beautiful ancient home of the Oracle. Situated on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Delphi is one of the most stunning archaeological sites in the world. After visiting this amazing site, continue through the Greek countryside to the town of Kalambaka. Overnight in Kalambaka.

DAY 9 METEORA – KALAMBAKA

After breakfast, it is time to visit the beautiful monasteries of Meteora. The natural landscape, shaped approx. 60 million years ago, showcase the famous monasteries. Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and dates back to the Byzantine Era. These monasteries perch atop massive rock formations and are one of the most breathtaking sites in all of Greece. Return to Kalambaka at the end of the day.

DAY 10 ATHENS

In the morning, begin the return to Athens. On the way back, take the opportunity to stop and visit the towns of Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylae. Arrive in Athens and return your rental car. Enjoy your final evening in Athens.

After breakfast, transfer from the hotel to Athens International Airport for your return flight home.
