DAY 1 COLOMBO AIRPORT - NEGOMBO (16 KM / 20-30 MIN)

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Arrive at the Colombo International Airport, here, you will be met by a designated guide. After the formalities at the airport, you will be escorted to your air-conditioned vehicle and then transfer to Negombo. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 2 NEGOMBO - ANURADHAPURA (175 KM / 3H30)

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to the Ancient city of Anuradhaura a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Anuradhapura is the first capital of Sri Lanka. The ruins of Anuradhapura are one of South Asia’s most evocative sights. The sprawling complex contains a rich collection of archaeological and architectural wonders: enormous dagobas brick stupas, ancient pools and crumbling temples, built during Anuradhapura’s thousand years of rule over Sri Lanka. Today, several of the sites remain in use as holy places and temples. A few famous visits include the Ruwanveli Maha Seya, Sri Maha Bodhi tree, and Abhayagiriya. Evening at leisure at the hotel. DAY 3 ANARADHAPURA - DAMBULLA - MINNERIYA - DAMBULLA (65 KM / 1H15)

Breakfast at hotel. Step into the heart of Sri Lanka’s spiritual heritage with a visit to the Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in the country. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this awe-inspiring sanctuary features over 150 statues, including a colossal Buddha, and vibrant mural paintings that date back centuries. Built in the 1st century BCE by King Valagambahu, who sought refuge here, the temple is not only a site of deep religious significance but also offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. A must-see cultural gem steeped in history and serenity. Later, journey into the wild with an afternoon safari through Minneriya National Park, a sprawling haven of forest and grasslands nestled between Habarana and Polonnaruwa.This biodiverse sanctuary is best known for its majestic Asian elephants, often seen gathering in large herds near the ancient Minneriya Tank reservoir, an engineering marvel built over 1800 years ago by the Anuradhapura civilization. DAY 4 DAMBULLA - SIGIRIYA - HIRIWADUNNA - DAMBULLA (51 KM / 30 MIN)

Towering above the jungle at nearly 200 meters, this dramatic monolith is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the country’s most fascinating historical wonders. Built in the late 5th century CE by King Kasyapa, the fortress complex features ancient frescoes, mirror walls, landscaped gardens, and unique architectural brilliance. DAY 5 DAMBULLA - SIGIRIYA - KANDY (72 KM / 3H30)

For those who love to cook or explore natural wellness, it’s a sensory experience not to be missed, with the chance to purchase fresh, organic spices directly from the source. Upon arrival in Kandy, visit one of the most revered Buddhist sites in the world, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). DAY 6 KANDY - N’ELIYA (includes a train journey) (72 KM / 3H30)

Breakfast at the hotel and thereafter leave for the train ride to Nanu Oya. One of the world’s most gorgeous rail journeys may be found in the heart of Sri Lanka. The 3-hour train ride from Kandy to Nanu Oya passes through lush tea estates, and unending mountain views. Remarkably, it’s also one of the best travel experiences in Sri Lanka. The British built the railway in 1864 to transport tea from the hills to the capital city, but it has since become a very affordable way to explore the beautiful scenery. The train excursion is now a must-do on any trip to Sri Lanka. Upon arriving in Nuwara Eliya, visit a tea plantation. Head to one of the region’s preeminent harvesters of world-famous Ceylon tea. One of Sri Lanka’s main exports, tea, shapes the lives of hundreds of locals who work on plantations and in factories. DAY 7 NUWARA ELIYA - ELLA - YALA (185 KM / 4H30)

Breakfast at the hotel. Begin your journey into Sri Lanka’s hill country with a stop at the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, a masterpiece of colonial-era engineering. Located near Ella, this breathtaking bridge, built in 1921 entirely from stone, brick, and cement, without a single piece of steel, stretches over 300 feet across a deep ravine. With its nine perfectly shaped arches, it’s surrounded by lush tea plantations and misty hills, offering one of the most photogenic spots in the region. Stroll along the railway tracks, or time your visit to see a train cross the bridge, a picture-perfect moment that captures the charm of Ella. Continue en route with a visit to Ravana Falls, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous and scenic waterfalls. Cascading from a height of around 25 meters, these falls are steeped in legend, said to be linked to the ancient epic of Ramayana. Set against a backdrop of jungle-clad mountains, Ravana Falls is a refreshing stop, perfect for snapping photos or simply taking in the sounds of rushing water and birdsong. Upon reaching Yala, gear up for an unforgettable Jeep Safari through Sri Lanka’s premier wildlife sanctuary. Renowned for having the highest density of leopards in the world, Yala National Park offers an exhilarating opportunity to spot these elusive big cats in their natural habitat. DAY 8 YALA - GALLE - BENTOTA (190 KM / 2H30)

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to the beautiful beaches of the South visiting Stilt Fisherman in Weligama. Visit the ancient port of Galle which was Sri Lanka’s first international center of trade. Today, this town is a bustling administrative center and the provincial capital of the southern region. Despite the presence of modern architecture and civic amenities, Galle still hosts a stunning collection of sites dating back over hundreds of years. On your trip to Galle, you will also experience the unforgettable Unawatuna Bay, which is surrounded by a reef and home to the Galle Fort. Surrounded on three sides by the ocean, the 36-hectare fort was built by the Portuguese in 1587 and has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 10 BENTOTA/BERUWELA - COLOMBO (120 KM / 2H30)

Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to Colombo. Afternoon Balapitiya Madu River Boat Safari: it is a scenic boat tour that takes visitors through the tranquil waters of the Madu River, located in the southern part of Sri Lanka. The boat safari offers a unique opportunity to explore the lush mangrove forests, and observe the diverse wildlife, such as crocodiles, monkeys, and various bird species that call this region home. Visitors can also visit the small islands located within the Madu River, where they can explore the temples, cinnamon plantations, and traditional handicraft workshops. Colombo, drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit the Fort, the former British administrative Centre and military garrison, Lotus Tower, Sea Street, the Goldsmiths quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where there is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfe dhal dating back to 1749. Colombo Shopping Tour: Take a fascinating journey in the capital of the isle paradise. This commercial and administrative hub of the country proves to be a blend of cultural texture, religions, and socioeconomic classes. Visit bargain markets, Independence Square, Odel Shopping Mall, Colombo City Center, One Galle Face. Shop at Laksala state owned Handicraft’s emporium. Overnight at the hotel.
