DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN ATHENS

Arrival today at Athens International Airport. After collecting your luggage, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel in Athens. The remainder of the day is yours to discover the neighbourhood.

DAY 2 ATHENS HALF DAY SIGHTSEEING TOUR

After breakfast, you will be met at the hotel (or designated meeting point) to begin your shared half-day Athens sightseeing tour. This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop). Continue and pass by the Prime Minister’s residence (ex-Royal Palace) guarded by the Euzones in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the Parthenon. Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis Museum.
Note: Due to certain restrictions in the visiting hours of the new Acropolis Museum the order of the program can be changed.

DAY 3 AT LEISURE

Today, Athens is yours to discover! Stroll through the historic Plaka district, admire the Acropolis from viewpoints like Areopagus Hill, and wander around Syntagma Square to watch the Changing of the Guard. Explore the National Garden for a peaceful break, then head to Monastiraki Flea Market to soak in the lively atmosphere. End your day with sunset views from Lycabettus Hill for a breathtaking panorama of the city.

DAY 4 DEPARTURE FROM ATHENS

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then take your departure transfer to Athens airport for your return flight home or an extended stay in the Greek islands.
