DAY 1 OSAKA - YAKUSHIMA

Fly from Osaka Itami Airport to Yakushima Airport. In the afternoon, explore the island with your guide. Walk through Yakusugi Land, a magical forest of ancient cedar trees, mossy stones, and misty paths. Discover the impressive Kigensugi Cedar, standing for over 3,000 years, and admire the powerful Senpiro-no-Taki Waterfall, cascading down a massive granite cliff. Return to your hotel.

DAY 2 YAKUSHIMA

Begin your day with a guided walk in Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine, a lush moss-covered forest that inspired Princess Mononoke. Gentle streams, ancient rocks, and deep greenery create a peaceful and dreamlike atmosphere. Lunch is included. Return to your hotel in the afternoon.

DAY 3 YAKUSHIMA – KAGOSHIMA

After breakfast and check-out, travel by ferry to Kagoshima (approximately 1.5 hours). Enjoy a free afternoon to relax or explore the city at your own pace.

DAY 4 KAGOSHIMA

Visit the Chin Jukan Kiln and Museum, where you discover over 400 years of Satsuma pottery tradition. Take part in a hands-on pottery experience, creating your own unique piece using traditional techniques and your choice of glaze. Lunch is included. In the afternoon, step back in time at the Chiran Samurai Residences, where beautifully preserved homes and gardens showcase the elegance of samurai life. Each residence tells a story of history, honor, and artistry in feudal Japan. It’s a captivating glimpse into Kagoshima’s rich cultural heritage.

DAY 5 KAGOSHIMA – MIYAZAKI

After breakfast, take the ferry to Sakurajima, one of Japan’s most active volcanoes. Enjoy scenic views and discover its dramatic volcanic landscapes. Lunch is included. Continue to Cape Toi to see the Misaki wild horses, roaming freely along the coastline. Drive along the stunning Nichinan Sea Coast, with breathtaking ocean views, before ending the day in Obi Castle Town, often called the “Little Kyoto of Kyushu.” With its museums, gardens, and quiet lanes, the town offers a journey back in time.

DAY 6 MIYAZAKI

Experience Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) in Inahoe Valley, a peaceful ravine known for its waterfalls and healing atmosphere. Walking here and breathing in the forest air is known to relax both body and mind. This is one of three “Forest Therapy Spots” in Miyazaki prefecture listed by the Japanese Society of Forest Medicine. Lunch is included. In the afternoon, visit Udo Jingu Shrine, a breathtaking cliffside Shinto shrine overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The temple is famous for its unique cave setting and bright vermilion buildings. Then explore Aoshima Island, famous for its unique rock formations, called “Devil’s Washboard” and its tropical plants. The island is home to Aoshima Shrine, a charming Shinto sanctuary surrounded by serene gardens.

DAY 7 DEPARTURE FROM MIYAZAKI

After breakfast at the hotel, take the train to your next destination or fly out from Miyazaki airport.
